For agencies

Every tutor on the same whiteboard, every lesson kept

An agency's problem is not the whiteboard, it is what happens after: a tutor leaves and the lessons go with them, a parent asks what was covered and nobody can say, a safeguarding question needs a record. Writeboard keeps every lesson as a book under the organisation, with read-only oversight that is itself audited.

Updated 29 August 2026. Written by a working maths tutor from his own lessons; every screen shown is the real product.

The short answer

The agency adds its tutors; tutors add their students; every lesson lands in a book the agency owns. A manager can open any board read-only and each look is logged. When a tutor leaves, their seat ends and the students, books and exports stay. Priced per tutor seat, quoted in pounds; students are free. The agency plan is available on request while the first organisations come on board.

NeedWhat Writeboard does
ContinuityBooks, chapters and homework stay with the organisation. A new tutor opens the student's book and reads the last lesson.
OversightRead-only view of any board, time-limited and logged at both ends. Console shows counts, never content, unless a manager deliberately opens a board.
SafeguardingTutors confirm their authority before their first invite; student accounts hold no email, no date of birth and no tracking; a written safeguarding procedure with evidence preservation.
ParentsA read-only link per student, and a PDF export of any chapter or the whole book with a cover and contents.
DataLondon hosting, encrypted backups, a data processing schedule, a sub-processor register and a DPIA for children's data, all available on request.
CostPer tutor seat, quoted. Students free. Nothing metered by the hour or the paper.
A worksheet being distributed to two students from the library
A worksheet built once, sent to two students as fresh books.

How it compares

BitPaper charges companies $50 a month plus $1 a paper and $0.20 a call hour; Pencil Spaces meters by user hours from $6 a month. Both put the call inside the board. Writeboard does not do calls; it does the record, and it charges per tutor, so an agency can budget a year in advance. Sources: bitpaper.io, pencilspaces.com, checked 29 August 2026.

Questions agencies ask

How is the agency plan priced?

Per tutor seat, quoted. Students are always free. Write to hello@writeboard.uk with the number of tutors and we reply the same day with a price in pounds.

Who owns the data when a tutor leaves?

The organisation. Students, books and exports stay under the agency; the tutor's access ends when their seat does.

Can the agency see what happens in lessons?

Read-only, with an audit trail of who looked at what and when. Every view is logged, and tutors can see that it is.

Where is the data held and who processes it?

On a server in London; encrypted backups in the United States under the UK-US data bridge. The sub-processor list and a data processing schedule are available on request, along with the DPIA for children's data.
