What Writeboard keeps about you
Writeboard is the whiteboard you and your tutor write on. Your tutor set up your sign-in. Here is what we keep, and what we do not.
We keep
Your username, the name your tutor typed for you, and your lessons: the pages you and your tutor write on, pictures and worksheets you put on them, your homework, the questions you ask your tutor on a page, a book of your own if you start one, and files your tutor puts on your shelf, such as past papers. We note how long each lesson lasted and when you and your tutor were writing, so the record of your lessons is right; it is never used to rank or judge you. If you or a parent added an email, we use it to send a new password when you forget yours, a reminder the day before homework is due if you asked for one, and reminders your tutor sends about your homework. Nothing else goes to it. Your tutor, or the agency they work for, may also keep a record about you, like a school would: your date of birth, your school, your subjects and results, a parent's phone number, and forms your parent signed. Only the people who run your lessons can see it. You cannot see it from your sign-in, but you or a parent can ask for a copy.
We do not keep
Where you are, what you do online, or anything about you from other apps. There are no adverts, no streaks and no points. Nothing nudges you to keep going.
Who can see your lessons
You, your tutor, and anyone your tutor gives a look-only link to, such as a parent. If your tutor works for an agency, the people who run your lessons there can also open your pages, and so can another tutor there if your tutor shares a book with them. A parent may also have a link of their own that shows your next lesson, dates your tutor shares such as an exam, notes your tutor sends them, any report your tutor shares and the files your tutor puts on your shelf; it never lets them write on your pages. Nobody else. Your tutor can read your own book, and writes in it only if you invite them. Your tutor can delete a page or your whole book, and so can we if you or a parent ask.
